Description |
| Nanomix is a nanoelectronic detection company specializing in handheld and point-of-care detection devices for respiratory and biodetection applications. The company's biodetection solutions offer low power consumption, small size, ultra-sensitivity and other performance advantages providing medical professionals with simplified conventional test protocols and routine access to critical information. |
| Products / Services |
The Nanomix respiratory detection device pipeline includes: the Nanomix asthma monitor, a small, inexpensive device measuring expired quantities of nitric oxide (NO); the CapLite Single-use capnometer, which measures exhaled levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) using the company's proprietary Sensation platform; and the CapLite, a portable, single-use CO2 monitor for emergency airway management. Additionally, the Nanomix NanoTectTM monitors rely on a proprietary nanoelectronic platform to detect low levels of industrial gas for environmental monitoring and demand controlled ventilation. Coordination with ventilation control systems enables real-time modulation of the environment for high-value applications. Target applications for the company's biomolecule products include the electronic detection of genetically modified organisms in crop samples as well as the detection of human genetic patterns for diagnoses of infectious diseases, inherited diseases, and drug metabolism.
| Technology / Differentiation |
| The Nanomix Sensation technology is a nanoelectronic detection platform based on carbon nanotube networks and proprietary chemistries. Its tiny detector chips are equipped with one or more individually addressable detection elements, each capable of being independently functionalized for the detection of a specific target analyte. |
| Market / Customers |
The Nanomix asthma monitoring device currently targets the 20 million Americans living with asthma.
| Status |
| Nanomix announced the issuance of an additional U.S. patent for its Sensation nanostructured detection platform in January 2008. |
