On the Heels of Darco, Wright Pays $8M for R&R Biz

Just two weeks after Wright Medical paid $17 million for Darco International‘s reconstructive foot surgery business, the Arlington, TN, orthopedics firm is forking over $8 million in cash for R&R Medical’s foot and ankle external fixation devices: the Circular Freedom Frame, Hollawell Tomahawk Mini-Fixator, Patriot Mini-Fixator and the Stealth Fusion System. Wright’s sales force will immediately begin pushing the products in the U.S. and will expand internationally by the end of 2007. The company said yesterday in a statement that in addition to the $8 million upfront payment, potential cash payments to R&R may be made based on future financial performance of the acquired assets.
