Radiology Start-Up Raises $10 Million

radiologyFoundation Radiology Group, a provider of diagnostic imaging services to hospitals and medical institutions, announced that it has raised $10 million in the company’s first round of venture funding. The round was led by Chrysalis Ventures with participation from Health Evolution Partners. Pittsburgh-based Foundation Radiology, which was founded in 2006, offers on-site radiology and teleradiology solutions on a 24/7 basis. The company aims to service rural and suburban medical institutions that can’t afford to hire their own radiology subspecialists, and to larger hospitals seeking faster, more accurate interpretations. According to the company, their unique delivery system (which utilizes PACS technology, a telecommunications infrastructure, and the Internet) provides the industry’s fastest turnaround times for diagnostic reads. Foundation Radiology’s subspecialists are trained in musculoskeletal radiology, mammography, vascular ultrasound, neural radiology, and cardiac CT, among other areas.
