Over 200 attended the first annual meeting of OneMedPlace, its 2008 Finance Forum in San Franscisco January 7th and 8th. Audio presentations by many of the companies can be seen at www.onemedplace.com/meeting/companies.php.
Located less than a block from the very crowded JP Morgan Healthcare conference, attendees commented both on the quality of the firms and the chance to directly connect with the management in a less frenetic setting.
Despite its relatively small size, the event’s unique focus on smaller and newer firms generated a buzz in the cocktail circuit among those interested in such companies. Organizers received numerous requests for an invitation to the 2009.
In addition to the company presentations, attendees heard from some of the top thinkers in Diagnostics and Personalized Medicine and an interesting presentation from representatives from Austin Texas on a large and unique venture capital pool provided the state of Texas.
