nyc_manhattanOneMedPlace announced that the leading Universities and Hospitals in the New York area will showcase their most promising medical technologies June 30th at the OneMedForum NY 2010 in Midtown Manhattan.

Columbia University Medical Center, Cornell Medical School, Sloane Kettering, NYU Medical Center, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Rockefeller University and VA Medical Center have signed up to present their novel but nascent technologies,” said Peter Leonardi, PhD., who is organizing the Translational Research track for the OneMedForum 2010. These technologies will complement the 70 healthcare and life science companies that will be presenting at this New York annual summit created to connect the most promising private and microcap companies with the investment community.

“We are thankful to the efforts of Dr. Leonardi, PhD. for leading this track, he truly understands technology transfer”, said Brett Johnson, CEO of OneMedPlace. Dr. Leonardi previously led the business development and technology transfer program at New York Presbyterian Hospital, the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, where he helped found and incubate several medical device and healthcare information technology companies. He is currently a principal at Five Prime Advisors, LLC a New York based Healthcare Investment Bank.

OneMedPlace also announced that top ranked investment bank, Stifel Nicolaus, will be sponsoring the OneMedForum NY 2010. Stifel was recently ranked #1 overall out of 183 qualifying firms in the Wall Street Journal’s Best on the Street Survey for 2010. Recently announced merger with Thomas Weisel Partners Group, Inc. reflects a strategy to build a premier middle-market investment bank with significantly enhanced investment banking, research and wealth management capabilities. After their merger with Thomas Weisel, Stifel Nicolaus will provide research coverage of more companies than any other investment bank. “The convergence of technology, science, and information is quickly changing the healthcare landscape. Having leading Hospitals, Universities and financial institutions like Stifel at the OneMedForum NY 2010 supports the development of innovation, which is critical to the U.S. healthcare system”, added Johnson.
