S.E.A. Medical Systems develops of advanced real-time fluid sensing systems for the safe preparation and delivery of intravenous (IV) medications. Its IVCheck product utilizes a sensor and a drug formulation database to test the contents of IV formulations before they leave the hospital pharmacy. S.E.A. Medical’s SmartIV product consists of a sensor attached to the patient’s IV line. The sensor is designed to monitor the drug and the dose and notify caregivers when a dose error occurs. The company has been conducting proof-of-concept studies in U.S. medical centers and is developing a next-generation prototype of its sensor.
Telcare intends to commercialize the world’s first cellular-enabled blood glucose meter, which is designed to improve diabetes management by bridging the gap between home glucose monitoring patients and their caregivers. All data is transmitted to the company’s proprietary web server, where it can be viewed by patients and authorized healthcare providers. The Telcare Blood Glucose Monitoring System is currently undergoing clinical trials. Most recently, the company added a cellular-enabled blood pressure cuff and weight scale to its product line.
Pearl Diver is a life sciences information, data and research firm. PearlDiver’s engineers and analysts aggregate, process and organize existing databases of patient, reimbursement, claims and clinical data into products for manufacturers, hospitals, patients, insurance companies and others. The company’s patient database contains 500 demographic records for orthopedics patients.
HealthLink Europe is a medical device distribution company with facilities in the Netherlands and the United States. The company provides services to companies looking to break into the European market or expand their existing distribution in Europe.
