BioElectronics, a Frederick, MD, firm that makes anti-inflammatory patches, continues to expand distribution of its AntiPatch Therapy in the ophthalmology market. The company has signed a distribution agreement with Barron Medical, a Chino Hills, CA, distributor that has 31 established ophthalmology reps throughout the U.S.
ActiPatch delivers pulsed electromagnetic frequency (PEMF) to accelerate healing of soft tissue injuries. PEMF has been shown to reduce pain and swelling by lessening the body’s inflammatory response. ActiPatch is FDA cleared for the treatment of edema following blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
This deal follows a string of distributor partnerships forged by BioElectronics back in May, including one with Eximeq, a Mexican healthcare-service provider that will grow ActiPatch internationally.
