InTUUN’s Cooperative Health Record Integration Puts the Patient First

The world is changing and healthcare is no exception. In an age when digital networks are bringing more and more people together, it is natural for companies within the health IT sector to find innovative ways to connect health professionals with patients. InTUUN is a leading health care information technology and services company focused on creating clinically integrated networks of medical practices, physician organizations and hospitals to enable collaborative patient care and measurable improvements in cost and quality across large patient populations.

The inspiration for InTUUN sparked two decades ago, years before health information exchange became a national priority.  It was triggered by a personal health incident in which an unnecessary emergency medical procedure was performed because the attending physician, without access to the patient’s health history, was unaware that a low cost, non-invasive solution could have been pursued producing a better outcome.

InTUUN’s unique, web-based Cooperable  Community Integration System enables the creation of community patient records that can be accessed, updated and shared by collaborating health care providers regardless of geographic location or existing technology infrastructure. Cooperability and the management of a the patient health record offer a powerful and cost effective platform for comprehensive health information exchange, population health management and protocol driven collaborative patient care across large numbers of independent medical practices making clinically integrated health care delivery a reality.

The system is capable of monitoring and managing the health of community-wide populations in real time, reduce health care costs by eliminating redundancies, and support community wide quality initiatives to drive continuous improvements in patient outcomes.  InTUUN’s community-centric Cooperable Heath Record  (CHR) platform realizes this vision.

InTUUN’s CHR version 9.6 recently received the federal government’s “meaningful use” stamp of approval by earning Complete EHR Ambulatory certification.  The designation officially deems InTUUN’s electronic health record (EHR) software capable of enabling providers to qualify for funding under the Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). InTUUN CHR version 9.6 is one of several InTUUN applications that medical practices can use to connect to the growing InTUUN Cooperable health information exchange. The company was selectively invited and will be presenting at OneMedForum NY 2011.
