NYSE to Host OneMedForum Finance Reception 2011 July 11th

OneMedPlace has announced the NYSE will hold a finance reception on the evening of July 11th to kick-off the 3rd Annual OneMedForum NY 2012. The networking reception at this historic venue will feature a special keynote in the board room of the Stock Exchange from David Weild IV, former NASDAQ Vice Chair who is now a special advisor at Grant Thornton where his research has played a key role in the recently passed JOBS Act, which is ushering in sweeping changes to the US Securities Laws.

The reception provides a unique networking opportunity in an elegant setting, where investors and executives will enjoy one of Manhattan’s most storied venues. From 6pm – 7pm Mr. Weild who has been active in advancing legislation to support improved economics in the capital markets will discuss the future of stock markets, and from 7pm – 9pm guests will enjoy cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres on the floor of the Stock Exchange.

“The NYSE is one of the most iconic structures and perhaps the most important business landmark in the world,” said Brett Johnson, OneMedPlace founder and CEO. “It is an ideal environment to assemble CEOs to discuss the future of the capital markets with remarks from someone playing an active role in shaping the structure of those markets”

Mr Weild’s research into the structural flaws in the US stock markets created the impetus for the legislation, and he recently spoke in Congress and at the SEC to advance the need for fundamental structural changes in the form of tick sizes set by the issuer.

Paid registrants of the OneMedForum NY 2012 conference on July 12th will be invited to attend the evening reception on July 11th. To register and learn more about conference programming, visit the OneMedForum website. Click here to view our latest conference brochure .
