OneMedPlace Announces Program Updates for Its 6th Annual “OneMedForum,” Jan. 7-9, 2013, in San Francisco

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–OneMedPlace has announced updates to the programming schedule for its “6th Annual OneMedForum,” January 7-9, 2013, in San Francisco.

The morning panel on January 8th will explore the impact of changes to Reg. D solicitation and leveraging the internet to expand access to capital. A panel of experts – featuring investors, key opinion leaders, and those active in shaping the legislation – will discuss how emerging growth companies can use liberalized general solicitation rules and Blue Sky laws to find capital.

The morning panel on January 9th will discuss the possibility of using crowdfunding in early-series raisings and as bridge financing. This panel will explore the theory behind crowdfunding, as well as the consequences and advantages of this strategy in later rounds of financing.

As part of the non-traditional financing track, OneMedForum will devote a panel to pushing medical devices to market using limited resources. Despite a moribund economy in which venture capital is drying up, many medical device companies have built a successful financing model incorporating the concept of ‘bootstrapping’ and global development. Leading authorities will discuss how investors can find value in this volatile space.

The 6th Annual OneMedForum will take place concurrently with the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference and will feature over 1,000 attendees and more than 100 emerging growth companies from the biotech and medical device sectors. The conference draws a diverse investor attendee base, including: venture capital, private equity, angel networks, family offices, hedge funds, high-net-worth individuals, international investors, research analysts, and strategic partners. The percentage breakdown of registered attendees is:

  • 47% Venture Capital
  • 16.5% Private Investors
  • 20% Private Equity
  • 16.5% Angel Investors
