OneMedRadio: Implandata CEO Discusses Glaucoma, Eye Monitoring Devices

Implandata Opthalmic Products GmbH, a German medical device start-up developing a technology for monitoring chronic eye diseases such as glaucoma, will be featured among the private companies presenting at the 6th Annual OneMedForum, January 7-9 in San Francisco.

The company has made some buzz recently with the announcement of several financial and developmental milestones. In late August, Implandata announced the completion of Series A financing, with major investors including Peppermint Venture Partners, Enjoy Venture and the ERP Startfonds of the KfW. The company raised €3.0 million, which will be used to run a CE trial to achieve early market access for its new diagnostic system.

Launched in 2010, Implandata has received funding from private individuals — including medical professionals — as well as venture capital. The company also announced the submission of pre-IND materials to the FDA to seek US approval.
OneMedRadio spoke with CEO Max Ostermeier about these milestones and Implandata’s future goals.
